Feels to me like #GrapheneOS did exactly what it should, passing the #US border test with flying colours!

Funny part about this #lawsuit:
“With a little planning ahead of time, you can always download the data you need once you get to where you’re going,”

US accuses American of allegedly wiping his phone using a 'duress' password during border search | TechCrunch
A U.S. citizen has asked a court to throw out the government's claim that he gave over a passcode to border authorities that wiped his phone's data, opening up fresh questions about a person's constitutional rights at the U.S. border.Zack Whittaker (TechCrunch)
Wow.. that is SO bad
White House admits it used keywords to kill billions worth of California research grants
"1. By using keyword searches to review hundreds of grants and terminate them en masse rather than reviewing them individually on their merits, the Trump administration targeted research it found politically disfavorable, which is a First Amendment violation.""2. In terminating 283 Department of Energy grants from states where a majority voted for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, and leaving untouched hundreds of grants that went to “red” states, the Trump administration wrongly punished researchers for merely living in states the White House politically opposed."
"3. And by terminating billions of dollars in grants, and never rerouting that money to other grant opportunities, the Trump administration violated the constitution by not spending money in ways Congress specifically required through laws it passed on how research funds should be used."
So what happens next?
- will the lawsuit be dropped?
- will ‘national security’ mean that the records suddenly become unavailable?
- will everything go quiet on the Trump front while he hopes it all goes away?
- will the judge be seized by ICE and deported? After all she doesn't sound like an Amercian from Florida.
There will be those who won't know or care until the bullshit bites them in the ass personally, and until then "AI is awesome!"

#Meta has been up to no good for a while - always?
Is $1.4 trillion a reasonable amount for these cases? Who knows.
Is it reasonable compensation for all the evil they’ve done? I’d argue yes.
It’s essentially their entire market capitalization as a penalty.
