Hello fediverse!
So far we've federated 450 #Flipboard accounts which have now received more than 100,000 likes, boosts, replies and follows from people in the #fediverse. Today we are federating another 100 people who are curating terrific magazines that people in the fediverse can now enjoy.

So, at the 29 minute mark, Ryan talks about how Mastodon's search discoverability feature is currently opt-in and there's only 5-6% of people currently opting-in. That's a wild statistic!😬 3/?

Ryan made a pretty good point around the 16 minute mark about how Threads wasn't told to make their federation "opt-in" from the Fediverse side and that people feel differently about bridges for some reason.
Even though, they're the same thing, in most ways. 2/?

We recently announced that we federated 400 of Flipboard’s top creators and curators, meaning that their Flipboard activity is now syndicated out to fediverse platforms like Mastodon and eventually…Flipboard (Fedi Curious)
Threads is the largest player so far to adopt #ActivityPub, and as @mike says, “The implications are huge.”
Why is Threads doing this? How is the team working with the community? How are they thinking about moderation, monetization and privacy in these early days and going forward?
