Ready for another joke? 🥁
The Irish Data Protection Commission, which is responsible for most major technology companies ( #Meta, #Google, #Apple, #OpenAI, #Microsoft,...) actually imposes fines in just 0.26% of the cases it handles. And even when a fine is imposed, the money is almost never collected. 🤡

For the first time, maybe ever - #Meta is spreading joy ;)
Their full commitment to #AI actually means (A(ll (I)n for Meta now. After the failed #Metaverse, they really need this to work!
Is #MetaAI even any good though? Wouldn't know - don't even know anybody who's ever used it 😜

So essentially #Meta imagines a world, in which people don't even have to write their own messages to family and friends anymore?
Like we are not talking useless emails read by a bot here:

A jury in Los Angeles has found Meta and YouTube liable on all counts in a landmark social media addiction trial, awarding the plaintiff $3 million. Here's more from NBC.

Verdict reached in landmark social media addiction trial
A verdict has been reached in the landmark civil trial that accused social media giants of profiting from products designed to be dangerously addictive to children.Shanshan Dong (NBC News)
A #NewMexico jury ruled Tuesday that #Meta knowingly harmed children’s #MentalHealth & concealed what it knew about #child sexual #exploitation on its #socialmedia platforms.
The landmark decision comes after a nearly 7-week trial, & as jurors in a federal court in California have been sequestered in deliberations for more than a week about whether Meta & #YouTube should be liable in a similar case.

Guess who's behind the sudden rush of age verification legislation?
In the US, #Meta is spending $26.3 Million to hire at least 86 Lobbyists from 40 lobbying firms, and lobbying in at least 45 states. It is confirmed that Meta wrote the Louisiana age verification bill.
In the EU, Meta is spending ten million euros annually on lobbying, retaining 18 lobbying firms.

Ha, Class Action lawsuit against Meta.
"...Meta sold millions of these glasses with promises of user privacy and control over data. Then, in April 2025, the company quietly updated its privacy policy to make AI features — and the collection of your voice recordings — the default, with no real way to opt out. And it gets worse: a 2026 investigation revealed that your footage — including some of the most private moments captured by those glasses — was being reviewed by thousands of overseas human contractors without your knowledge.
