Liebe Leserinnen und Leser,
nach einem langen, kalten Winter zeigt sich endlich wieder die Sonne. Der Osterhase wärmt schon mal die Pfoten auf und wir merken: Die Energie kommt zurück. Gut so. Wir können sie gebrauchen.
Denn politisch wird weiter fleißig im digitalen Raum gewütet. Natürlich immer im Sinne der Big-Tech-Unternehmen, die uns die vielen Probleme überhaupt erst eingebrockt haben: Die Demokratie braucht bald einen Rollator, Grundrechte werden zurechtgebogen und irgendwo sitzt immer jemand mit der Idee, dass mehr Überwachung bestimmt alles besser macht.
Da kommen uns ein paar gute Nachrichten sehr gelegen. Und die bringt nicht nur der Frühling: Die Zivilgesellschaft ist wach. Auf Prüf-Demos, beim DI.Day und an vielen anderen Orten zeigt sich: Wir haben jede Menge Luft in der Lunge. Unsere Kampagne gegen Digitalzwang hat weiter Zulauf. Der Bundesgerichtshof hat klargestellt, dass das Ausspähen alter Chat-Nachrichten deutlich höhere Hürden braucht als das Abfangen neuer Nachrichten auf dem Übertragungsweg. Und ganz nebenbei ist auch ein rebellisches Känguru wieder unterwegs. Mit viel guter Laune und einem Beutel voller Digitalthemen.
In diesem Sinne: Sonne ins Gesicht, Mut ins Herz. Auf zu neuen Taten!

Last week, an AI agent similar to OpenClaw triggered a high-severity security incident at Meta by independently giving inaccurate technical advice on an employee forum.
Guess who's behind the sudden rush of age verification legislation?
In the US, #Meta is spending $26.3 Million to hire at least 86 Lobbyists from 40 lobbying firms, and lobbying in at least 45 states. It is confirmed that Meta wrote the Louisiana age verification bill.
In the EU, Meta is spending ten million euros annually on lobbying, retaining 18 lobbying firms.
Age verification isn't about protecting children; it's about attacking privacy.
A social networking system simulates a user using a language model trained using training data generated from user interactions performed by that user.
A redditor (Ok_Lingonberry3296) traced $2 billion in nonprofit grants and lobbying records across 45 states to figure out who's behind the age verification bills.
The answer is Meta - a company that profits from your data writing laws that collect more of it.
"...Meta sold millions of these glasses with promises of user privacy and control over data. Then, in April 2025, the company quietly updated its privacy policy to make AI features — and the collection of your voice recordings — the default, with no real way to opt out. And it gets worse: a 2026 investigation revealed that your footage — including some of the most private moments captured by those glasses — was being reviewed by thousands of overseas human contractors without your knowledge. ..."
😵 🤯 Last year a #Meta Lobbyist became a new head of the #Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC). Today, the former head of the DPC announced that she is now working for MHC - the Irish law firm for Meta that was previously defending Meta before the #DPC in #GPDR cases - basically a 360° seat swap between the Irish regulator and Meta.
This is not just extreme #CorporateCapture of a regulator and makes #Ireland a laughing stock within the EU, but moves like this also undermine any public...
