The bug has a chitin like back similar to beetles (and this bug is often mistaken a a beetle) . 3 legs are visible , all black, while the mid joint is reflecting the green or is green. A pair of Black segmented antenna is also seen. The bug is positioned with head facing left. Its head with darkk bugged out eyes. The background is a bright vermilion red, the bracts of the poinsettia plant. The bug is called is Lychee shield bug while it's binomial name is Chrysocoris stollii
