Above that are three curved lines forming arches, a big one, medium sized one, and small one underneath the other two. Top middle is a rectangle divided into ten side-by-side divisions. Over the upper-right side corner of the rectangle are a series of squiggly lines, perhaps suggesting a waterfall? Further to the right in the middle, is another square, but this time divided into eighteen small rectangles. And at the extreme right is a straight vertical shaft with a series of seven oval shapes on it like a shish kabob.

It has a square door facing to the right. The other is to the right and appears as a brick wall with three ninety degrees bends as it goes toward the back of the crevice. In the middle ground is a large boulder. Behind the boulder is a small sapling pinon pine tree. The shadow of a dead tree is cast on the sandstone in the foreground. A couple of its limbs are visible on the left side of the frame.

Nielsen Grist Mill built in 1893 by Niels Hansen for Hans Peter Nielsen. The mill was powered by water from the Fremont River. Farmers would receive one sack of flour for three sacks of wheat. The mill operated until the 1930s. Apparently, the mill still contains its original equipment. It is on private property and not open to the public. (West of Torrey, Utah, 10/25/2024.)

Something that looks like a deer to us may have been something entirely different to the person who drew it. I feel it is cultural appropriation for modern humans to interpret rock art. Frankly, I even have a problem with using the term art for the images.) The four figures appear to our modern eyes as two elk on the left, a large long and fat bison with a small head in the middle, and a person with a bow and arrow on the right. The person is pointing the bow and arrow at the image that looks like a bison. The images are crude and drawn in a red-brown ocher paint.

Comet C/2023 A3 next to the Milky Way and over the San Juan River, Utah. There's a big oxbow cutoff canyon that the river flows in that's barely visible in the dark portion of this photograph. As with my earlier comet photos, a moonlight, fill light is really helpful when photographing comets. Some moonlight would have been helpful to illuminate the canyon walls in this shot.
