I took this photo in oxhagen nature reserve (Sweden, Uppland) when I was walking there with my father. It's an ultra-wide angle photo, 14 mm on a full-frame camera. #blackandwhite #Monochrome #nature #landscapephotography #NaturePhotography

Scenes from my walk by the local lake. It’s amazing how a walk can change my mood for the better and improve sleep. 🚶‍♀️🚶

Met a sea lion today. Not once did it insist that I engage it in “good-faith discussion with verifiable sources for my claims”. 10/10 would recommend #NotAllSealions #photography #NaturePhotography #streetphotography

Just eight days ago, I gave a popular science talk at mpi_grav@academiccloud.social about colorful phenomena in the sky, and now – boom!

Just minutes ago, there were beautiful iridescent clouds (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_ir…) here, north of Hanover, Germany.

Here, light is diffracted by tiny droplets in the clouds, creating these typical mother-of-pearl colors.

Fungi on fungi for #fungifriday.

These striking filaments are the reproductive structures of Spinellus fusiger, a parasitic fungus commonly known as bonnet or pin mould. It lives by infecting host mushrooms, producing thread-like sporangiophores that end in minute spore capsules, giving the mushrooms a fuzzy, pincushion-like appearance.

A white tailed deer died on our property overnight. By sunrise, a whole committee of Black Vultures had showed up for clean up detail. #nature #wildlife #birds #birding #bird #birdphotography #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #animals #homestead

Mushrooms climb the bark,
steps of time on leaning wood—
still pond mirrors sky.

Even an old stone drainage channel can look photogenic in the right setting. Discovered on a walk where the edge of the forest meets farmland.

I’ve taken many shots like this, every year, with the same subject and in the same place. Yet I’m still fascinated by this perspective.
This one is from just a few hours ago: the sunset and the "fragile" flower. A breath of wind will be enough, and the flower, as we see it, will vanish. Yet it will be everywhere, spreading itself across the world.
There it stands, swaying in the gentle air and the soft warmth of a November sunset, defying whatever happens around it.

No yesterday, no tomorrow - just here, now, basking in this poetic light.

And life, silently, flows on.

I hiked a large sand dune for the first time yesterday. What a unique experience! Quite a slog, hiking straight up the side to reach the ridge. A surprise with the challenge of walking the ridge— didn’t expect it to be so sharp. The drop-off on each side looked steeper/scarier than it actually was. A fun time! Bruneau Sand Dunes (Idaho)— 470 feet (143m) base-to-peak elevation change. #MountainMonday #hiking #nature

My take for #FootpathFriday from our vacation in the #schwarzwald / #blackforest Iast year.

#hiking in the chill rain can be a bit of a challenge. But for photography it can be pretty cool.
