Just an idea for UK/EU digital legislation.

All non-FOSS, proprietary mobile apps must have a web alternative. This will allow people to use services without relying on Apple/Google services and telemetry via a phone web browser of their choice (rather than having to download the app).

Yes - there'll be plenty of cases where this can't happen, but I think it's a good starting point.

UK is close to finallsing a law that would criminalise publishing any information provided by ”state threats”.

This would likely concern for example Hamas or Hezbollah, which publish civilian casualty numbers that journalists rely on, because Israel’s numbers are pure propaganda.

Should this become law, a journalist could then face up to 14 years in prison for publishing it.

Sounds a lot like Russia, doesn’t it?
