Cornered

Photo looking up at a corner of the flat roof over a petrol station. There's a certain ambiguity due to lack of context, but it's an interior corner, most of the image is blank grey sky. At the bottom the edge of the roof is lit from under a small lip running around the top. The edge is otherwise a broad red band over a small white one. In the darkness underneath, there's a single small square light close to the bottom right corner. It's pretty dirty.

Around the bend

Monochrome wideangle photo taken from the end of a curved train station platform. The silhouetted canopy and platform edge on this side of the tracks take up the top and bottom right corners. Across two sets of tracks is an island platform with a canopy roof over several large advertising hoardings, between which sit people on benches. Behind the platform and the station itself is an apartment block made from several boxy rectangular sections. Above is the sky, clear except where it curves down to the horizon, where there's a couple of wispy clouds.

The Mycena family of mushrooms are one of my favourites. They're prolific and common, and mostly vary only in colour, but they're consistently cute, and they have a charming love of mossy surfaces.

All shot practically using real figures and miniature sets. I don't have a car so had to fudge one together with a few seats and two pieces of glass with real water sprayed on them. The city lights are done using tinsel (I got lucky with the car headlights in the distance pure fluke)

My reflection in the saltwater of the North Sea. Or perhaps more like my shadow-reflection. Equally unreal, whether shadow or the 'original.' Both are frozen light through the camera, digitized, altered, turned back into light, chemically processed in the retina into signals, made available to the brain and its neurons for interpretation, and in turn, this produces thoughts and feelings... Mind-blowing!
